A Beautiful Georgian Elm Storage Trunk

Description

A beautiful Georgian general-purpose storage trunk in solid English elm. The plain-moulded-edge lid lifts on its original wrought iron hinges to reveal a plain interior with an open candle box at one end. It has extremely well-figured timbers and an original finish with a good rich colour and patination. This small storage box is English and it dates from c.1800 – c.1825. There is a working key to the original iron lock.
