Georgian Sword Chest In Oak

A wonderful 18th century oak trunk of elongated form – sometimes referred to as a sword chest. It is in solid English oak and is of a pleasing understated design having no carving or adornments. It has a D-edge moulded rectangular lid opening to reveal a general purpose storage interior and at the base of the elevations is a small moulded plinth. There is a fully working key to the original lock. This stunning Georgian coffer retains its original finish with a deep rich colour and patina. It is English, c.1750s.
