This antique campaign box would today be the ideal small coffee table but was originally constructed during the Victorian period, circa 1840, from mahogany as a small storage case to be carried around during military maneuvers. It has a hinged lid along with the original flush brass military carrying handles to the side.
It is a lovely rich mellow shade of mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
