The chest belonged to Thomas Lake Aveling as the carved top would suggest. I also have the medal and sovereign purse belonging to George Waters which is not for sale (see Photos). I would suggest that this box was used on trips overseas as the use of Elm and rope handles would suggest. A fantastic and unique period box in wonderful condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 38 inches wide 20 high and 21 deep.
