A Travelling Trunk Owned by a Military Gentleman

Description

A 19thC canvas and iron bound travelling trunk owned by Major A G Spilsbury who was the subject of extradition to Morocco for gun running in 1894.His exploits were mentioned in Hansard and the case R v Spilsbury is used as precedent in law today. The trunk is the perect coffee table size being 80 cms wide by 50 deep and 75.5 cms high. It bears a plaque to the lid which is inscribed A G Spilsbury 48th N and RM. This plaque can be opened for the retention of a card.
