An 18thc Deer Skin Trunk

18th century
Description

An early 18thC deer skin travelling trunk with iron hasp and lock. Brass stud decoration. Original fabric interior. These trunks were made for the aristocracy using the hides from their parkland deer. In this case a red deer. This depicted their standing in society as the common man had no access to deer hides.

This trunk is substantial and its colour and size make it an ideal decorative piece in a house of the right period.

103 cms wide by 49 deep and 47 max high.
