Deer skin trunks were for the aristocracy of the time and are getting extremely hard to find now. This one is lined with 18thC texts and has the original makers label......John Bryant Trunk Maker Corner of St Pauls facing Cheapside London.

The trunk is solid and robust but has been attacked by woodworm now long dead. It is extremely decorative and is full of character. The lock hasp is stamped S H. Original iron side handles.
