A Malles Moynat Travelling Trunk.

1900 - 1920
Description

Second only to Louis Vuitton this large trunk by Malles Moynat is of superb quality. It bears the makers lable on the interior which is dated 14th May 1910. The side handles and brass clasps are all marked Malles Moynat. Travel stickers one in particular is nice...Carlton hotel Cannes.

The condition is good with useage marks in line with its 100 years of service.The made to last build quality is of brown canvas with ovelaid beech battons and leather edge trimming all secured by brass pins and studs. LVMH who own Louis Vuitton have now bought Malles Moynat and opened a shop of that name at 348 Rue St Honore Paris selling leather goods of the highest quality. More photographs can be sent on request.

This trunk needs to stand in a substantial hall bedroom or drawingroom where it will be fully admired.

110 cms wide by 63cms deep and 70 cms high.
