Here we have a fantastic chest made from camphor wood c1825. As you can see the chest has beautiful colour and patina. This really is the most stunning example of its type you are likely to see. The top has a single wonderful coloured plank with revealed brass work. There is a nicely moulded edge with the main body of dovetailed construction. The raised brass work is very exciting, decorative and of exceptional quality. The sides and base are also single planks. The side handles are original and again beautifully worked. The hinges inside are heavy brass and there quality is unsurpassed. The inside is cavernous so a wealth of storage or just a decorative piece of furniture. There is a period Mahogany base again with very fine brass castors. This piece is fresh to the market and was being used by the previous owner in the dining room to hold the dinner service but it would equally look stunning in a hallway, landing or bedroom A stunning rare piece of fantastic appeal in lovely retail condition ready for your home.
