Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 17th Century.
On the heavy top of the coffer there is deep moulded panelling surrounding the inlaid panels, and 0n the front there is a carved edge to the three matching inlaid panels
Inside the Coffer has an old paper lining that could be removed, blacksmith made iron work, butterfly hinges, L brackets around the top edges and the lock and key both work well
The coffer is 61” long, 25” deep and 26” high
