Here we have a wonderful Marriage chest with its original paint dated 1871. As you will know most of these chests were made from Pine. This high quality chest is made from solid Oak. It has the most wonderful colour and patina having being hand waxed over a long period. The iron work hand forged hinges straps and handles are exceptional and decorative. The chest is constructed with dovetail joints and has an internal candle box with lid. This is just about the best I have seen of its type. an exceptional and very useful period piece in great retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 48 inches wide 24 deep and 26 high.
