An Early 19thc Campaign Trunk

Description

A lovely maroon hide and stud decorated campaign travelling trunk. Made in the colonies in the early 1800s the main carcass being of camphor wood. The perfect size for a coffee table, end of sofa lamp table or attractive storage. Substantail brass edging and corner caps some of which have been sympathetically restored (not immediately obvious). The maroon hide is original and in weathered condition but now highly polished. A few of the original studs are missing and a few have been replaced but again not immediately apparent. Brass side lifting handles. Working lock with Georgian key.

36 inches wide by 18 deep by 16 1/2 incjes high.

A realy good attractive piece.
