An Edwardian Steamer Trunk Louis Vuitton Repair.

Description

A super early 20thC steamer trunk ideal as a coffee table. Of extremely high quality this trunk has a replacement handle stamped Louis Vuitton secured by Louis Vuitton stamped brass studs. This is not a recent addition anbd was clearly done many years ago. The other handle is missing.The owners name is J A De Saumarez probably Jane Anne Baroness De Saumarez who died in 1933. The Saumarez family seat is Shrubland Park Estate Ipswich Suffolk. The trunk also bears a label 'Hon G Saumarez' probably The Hon Gladys Saumarez daughter of James StVincent Saumarez (4th Baron) The trunk is very substantially made by Innovations of NewYork and Paris.

The measurements are 34 1/2 inches wide by 20 deep by 13 inches high.
