Here we have a beautiful solid Elm Marriage chest which I believe to be Chinese and dating from around 1890-1900. as you can see the chest has fantastic colour and patina. The hand painted murals are exquisite and done by an excellent hand. The chest is made from solid Elm and is of fantastic dovetail construction as you would expect. The original hand forged handles and front clasp are also well worked. The plinth base has some architectural features and the chest is solid throughout. a beautiful and useful chest of great proportions ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 40 inches wide 25 deep and 28 high.
