Blanket Chest Heavily Carved with Elephants

Description

This is a most unusual blanket chest with carved scenes depicting herds of elephants on all four sides and top.

We believe the wood to be padouk , however this may not be the case and it may be some unusual type of hard wood found in its country of origin.

The condition is excellent and there are no splits or damage.
