This Art Deco sterling silver brooch from the period 1940 is shaped as an openwork triangle containing a diving dolphin, a ring, and three vertical bulrush reeds against a textured background. The silver metal has a polished finish with grey shadows in the recessed areas, and a horizontal pin with a rollover clasp is visible on the reverse side. The item measures 4 cm high, 3.2 cm wide, and 0.4 cm deep. Buyers can wear this piece of jewellery on a lapel, scarf, or jacket for everyday accessorising or special occasions, complementing various outfits with its modernist aesthetic. The triangular frame houses the aquatic imagery clearly within its borders, creating a distinctive profile when pinned to clothing. The secure fastening holds the jewel firmly in place during daily wear.

Art Deco Scandinavian silver jewellery combines early 20th-century geometric lines with stylised natural motifs, such as flora and fauna. Works from this movement emphasise clean forms, polished silver surfaces, and subtle hand-chased ornamentation.

Danish silver jewellery of this period was predominantly crafted from high-grade sterling silver, stamped with maker marks and purity hallmarks. Techniques included die-striking, hand-piercing, and chasing to create openwork motifs with sharp architectural frames.

Authentic pieces feature clear maker hallmarks, numerical model design numbers, standard silver purity marks such as 925S, and country of origin stamps. Inspection of the reverse reveal standard pin mechanisms, safety catches, and crisp metal stamping.

Silver brooches can be fastened to tailored blazer lapels, woolen coats, silk scarves, or knitwear to add structure and detail. Placing pierced silver items against dark background fabrics highlights the cutout geometric pattern.

Store silver brooches in anti-tarnish pouches away from direct moisture and humidity. Clean gently using a soft microfibre jewellery cloth, avoiding harsh abrasive chemicals that remove intended oxidized detailing.
