This early 18th century miniature tea caddy belongs to the Queen Anne period and is fashioned from sterling silver with a reflective silver finish. The object takes the form of a small octagonal body finished with a domed pull-off cap and a stepped base. Visible details include crisp vertical facets meeting at sharp corners, distinct horizontal moulding rings around the neck, and a smooth, rounded finial topping the lid. Surface examination reveals minor polish wear and subtle reflections across the polished metal planes. Measuring 5 cms in height, the piece functions as a decorative tabletop display item and fits comfortably on a bookshelf within a gentleman's library or study today.

A silver toy tea caddy is a miniature silver vessel produced during the early eighteenth century, designed either as a luxury plaything or a scale miniature showcase of a silversmiths skill.

These items were wrought from high-grade sterling silver, featuring hand-formed octagonal bodies, slip-on domed covers, and hand-fitted bases crafted using traditional metalworking methods.

Authentic pieces display period-correct makers marks or initials, characteristic gauge weight, natural surface wear along contact points, and architectural forms typical of the Queen Anne period.

Small silver collectables can be displayed inside a glazed cabinet, arranged on a mantelpiece alongside glassware, or placed on a tray as historical accents.

Preserve the finish by dusting with a soft microfibre cloth and applying a specialist silver polish sparingly to prevent residue accumulation in seam joints.
