Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. Opaline glass, originally developed in 19th-century France, is a semi-translucent to opaque glass valued for its soft, diffused light emission. Used extensively throughout the 20th century in ceiling fixtures, these lights combine functional illumination with classic architectural form.

These light fixtures generally consist of hand-blown opaline or milk glass shades paired with metal fitters, often brass or copper, which house the electrical lamp holder and attach to suspended chain mechanisms.

Authentic opaline pieces feature consistent glass opacity, smooth fire-polished edges, and slight blown-glass variations. Metal galleries usually exhibit natural patination and hand-machined fixings rather than lightweight modern pressings.

Pendant lights of this style work effectively suspended in pairs or trios over a kitchen island, dining area, or hallway to create warm, glare-free ambient lighting while pairing naturally with timber and contemporary cabinetry.

Clean the glass shade using a soft microfibre cloth lightly dampened with warm water and mild soap. Unlacquered brass components should be dusted regularly, with any oxidisation removed using a gentle metal polish if a bright finish is desired.
