Why Sellingantiques dated this piece to THE 1920s:
Fluted canted pilasters on the pedestals: neoclassical revival work from the early twentieth century.
Neat, narrow dovetails on the drawer linings: machine-assisted cabinet making from the interwar period.
Swan-neck brass handles: early twentieth-century copies of Georgian hardware.
Panelled back and sides: solid construction built to stand in the centre of a room.

This is an independent date report produced by Sellingantiques using its own proprietary system. The process uses the photographs shown on this page. The system is never told the date the dealer has declared. This report shows that the two dates corroborate.

A partners desk is a large double-sided writing table originally designed in the 18th century to allow two people to work facing each other comfortably, featuring drawers or cupboards on both sides.

These desks were primarily constructed from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, often featuring gilded leather writing surfaces and cast brass handles or escutcheons.

Authentic Georgian Revival pieces typically exhibit hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, solid wood drawer linings, solid brass hardware, and hand-finished mahogany with natural patination.

Position the desk centrally in a home office or library setting, pairing it with a contemporary leather desk chair and modern brass task lighting to balance traditional craftsmanship with modern functionality.

Dust the wooden surfaces regularly with a soft, dry cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish annually, while caring for the leather inset with dedicated leather balm to prevent drying and cracking.
