Description

A superb Victorian mahogany two-pedestal desk, distinguished by its impressive proportions, excellent craftsmanship and unusual thirteen-drawer configuration. The desk is raised upon elegant bun feet, with all thirteen drawers retaining their original-style decorative pierced brass handles, adding a particularly attractive period detail.

The generous top is arranged in three sections and is inset with a quality leather writing surface, which is a replacement, featuring hand-applied gilt and blind tooling. The desk is fully freestanding, allowing it to be positioned beautifully in the centre of a room and admired from all angles.

For ease of installation and transportation, the desk separates into three sections. Presented in good condition, this is an exceptionally practical and impressive piece of Victorian furniture, offering generous storage and a distinguished workspace suitable for both a traditional study and a sophisticated contemporary interior.
