Edwardian Four-strand Pearl Bracelet with Old-cut Diamond Floral Clasp in 15ct Gold Restrung Antique Ca 1910

1900 - 1920
Description

A beautifully composed Edwardian bracelet, bringing together four lustrous strands of cultured saltwater pearls and an exquisite diamond-set floral clasp.

The 84 pearls are arranged in four rows of 21, each approximately 7.5 mm in diameter. Their creamy ivory colouring, delicate pink overtones and fine lustre provide a lovely complement to the antique diamonds. Recently restrung and individually hand-knotted in October 2026, the strands sit gracefully together to create an elegant, substantial bracelet.

The centrepiece is an elongated clasp of intricate openwork design. Diamond-set flowers and leaves surround a delicate lattice, with 83 old-cut diamonds tracing its decorative detail. Measuring approximately 1.5–2.3 mm, these stones lend a gentle, lively sparkle to the beautifully worked setting.

Two diamond-set spacer bars divide the bracelet into three sections, keeping the pearl rows neatly aligned. Set with a further 22 diamonds between them, they continue the sparkle around the wrist.

The bracelet contains approximately 2.5 carats of diamonds in total, assessed as H colour and SI clarity. The gold tests as 15ct, and a pin-slide clasp with a safety catch completes the piece.

With its generous rows of pearls and romantic floral detailing, this is a striking example of Edwardian elegance — a wonderful choice for a special occasion, an anniversary or a treasured bridal jewel.

This Edwardian bracelet dates from circa 1910 and measures 18.4 cm in length. It comprises four strands of eighty-four cultured saltwater pearls, each measuring 7.5 mm in diameter in a creamy ivory colour with pink overtones. Two diamond-set spacer bars separate the strands and align the rows. The piece fastens with a pin-slide clasp and a safety catch. The central openwork clasp displays a floral and foliate motif set with eighty-three old-cut diamonds around a central lattice pattern. The metal tests as 15ct gold. The piece shows smooth, evenly coloured pearls with a fine lustre and was restrung in October 2026. It is worn on the wrist for formal occasions or bridal wear.

Edwardian jewellery from the early twentieth century is characterized by light, openwork designs, garland motifs, fine filigree work, and the prominent combined use of pearls, diamonds, and precious metal settings.

These pieces typically feature graduated or uniform pearls strung on silk thread, paired with clasps constructed from 15ct gold, platinum, or silver-topped gold set with old-cut diamonds.

Authentic pieces display hand-set old-cut or rose-cut diamonds, fine millegrain decorative edges, historical gold hallmarks such as 15ct, and period-appropriate box clasps or openwork floral panels.

A multi-strand pearl cuff serves as a focal accessory for formal wear, evening attire, or bridal clothing, worn alone on the wrist to highlight the detailed diamond clasp.

Pearls should be kept away from cosmetics, perfumes, and direct water exposure. Professional restringing on natural silk thread is recommended periodically to maintain structural security.
