A superb antique 19th century carved horn snuff mull, mounted with a tapered horn body and a silver collar and lid hallmarked London 1899. The lid is surmounted by a finely cast allegorical silver head, possibly symbolising Justice, Law, or moral authority. It is unusual in both its size and style, and is one of the finest I’ve ever owned.

Condition is good, commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound and functions well.
