This interwar sterling silver dish displays a circular form with a milled rim and official hallmarks stamped near the top edge. At the centre sits an embossed armorial crest depicting the coat of arms of the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers, complete with repousse detailing. The polished silver surface has a bright metallic finish and shows a tiny rim mark alongside minor surface blemishes from age. The reverse rests on a clear plastic stand to hold the item upright for display. Birmingham hallmarks and the maker marks for L&S are clearly visible on the inner rim of the object. It measures 8.8 cm across and weighs 40 grams. Items of this nature suit placement on a sideboard top in a study or library setting to hold small keepsakes, or serve as a cabinet display piece in a collection of livery company silver.

Livery companies in the City of London have a long tradition of commissioning silver items to commemorate masterships, anniversaries, or special events. These pieces often feature the detailed armorial bearings and motto of the specific trade guild.

Pieces from this period were wrought from high-purity sterling silver (925 fine) using traditional silversmithing methods, including metal spinning, casting, and repousse relief work for complex coat of arms details.

Authenticity is verified by checking the British hallmark sequence, which includes the makers mark, the lion passant for sterling purity, the assay office mark, and a specific date letter corresponding to the year of manufacture.

Small silver dishes serve as functional and decorative elements on a sideboard, entrance console, or dressing table, providing an elegant surface for holding keys, cufflinks, or small trinkets.

Clean gently with a soft microfibre cloth and a specialist non-abrasive silver polish to remove tarnish, avoiding harsh chemical dips, and store in a dry, low-humidity environment.
