Description

An antique drop necklace set with pretty deep red rose-cut garnets.

The pendant is backed with rose gold, the chain is a yellow-tone metal, possibly a later replacement.

SIZE: Approximately 16.5 inches long. The drop at the front is 2.9 x 0.8cm.

WEIGHT: 3.5g.

MATERIALS: Garnet, yellow-gold metal, rose gold.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: The clasp is stamped KOLLMARKETTE. Kollmarkette is the mark of Kollar & Jourdan, a German jewellery company founded in 1885 and known for its high-quality rolled-gold/gold-filled pieces.

CONDITION: In excellent antique condition with a secure springring clasp.

ERA: Estimated late Victorian/Edwardian (c.late 1800s-1914).
