Description

A superb Edwardian inlaid rosewood writing desk with storage compartments and drawers above and below the writing surface c.1910. The desk with rosewood veneers and extensive decorative inlays and string throughout. Original dark green leather writing surface with two sets of compartments with false drawer fronts sat to the rear; each with a lifting lid to access the interiors with fitted compartments for letters, stationery and pens. The two faux drawer front compartments joined by a shelf, which has a mirrored panel below. Below the writing surface are two sets of three drawers sat either side of the kneehole, each with inverted bow front, and a drawer to the centre in a matching style. The desk with tapering legs, which each include an original brass capped castor. Beautifully made with original brassware throughout and presented in excellent original condition with a rich colour and patina. Writing surface is 29" high.
