Description

A beautiful and highly practical antique Arts & Crafts oak bureau bookcase, dating from approximately 1900–1920.

This elegant piece combines a glazed bookcase, writing bureau and useful storage within a particularly compact footprint, making it an excellent choice for a traditional home office, study, living room or smaller interior.

The upper section features a pair of glazed panelled doors opening to reveal shelving suitable for books, collectables or display pieces. Below is the traditional fall-front bureau. When opened, the front forms a practical writing surface and reveals a fitted interior with a series of pigeonholes and compartments for letters, stationery and documents.

Beneath the writing section is a useful drawer fitted with decorative period-style handles, together with two open shelves at the base.

An original key is included.

Very good antique condition.

Solid and functional, with age-related marks, surface wear and natural variations in the timber consistent with its age and previous use.
