Description

A fine George IV Regency era silver half pint mug or tankard with clear hallmarks for London 1827 and makers mark for Rebecca Eames & Edward Bernard. This mug features the balanced proportions of Georgian design with a baluster form, stepped base, reeded neck and rim and especially the beautiful handle featuring an acanthus leaf branch. The interior and exterior are both in excellent condition. Often made as christening gifts, this one is larger than most and holds a half pint of liquid. Clearly, at the time it was a generous gift!

A good gauge of silver. Weight 6.5oz.
