Early Victorian Sterling Silver Go to Bed Chamberstick Scottish 1840 Antique

Description

A pretty Scottish solid sterling silver candle holder / chamber stick. It is hallmarked for Edinburgh with no date mark, the makers marks appear to be Elder & Co overstruck, I suspect the firm must have been taken over hence the overstruck mark, they operated during the first half of the 19th century, I would date this piece to c1840. It is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 2.5 inches (6.2cm) wide by 3.25 inches including the handle by 2.25 inch tall and weighs 58 grams. A pretty piece.
