Antique Silver Miniature Novelty Pin Cushion

1900 - 1920
Description

Well, this chap is gorgeous! A solid sterling silver pin cushion modelled as a miniature elephant.

Dating from the Edwardian era, he is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1906 with the maker's mark of Levi & Salaman. He has his original cushion and a couple of bruises on the sides of his torso.

Dimensions:

Length: 5cm

Height: 3cm

The elephant is associated with Buddha and the Indian deity Ganesh and can be used to symbolize power, wisdom, strength, protection of the home, fertility, and general good luck. Many Feng Shui practitioners believe that elephants should have their trunks facing upwards to represent prosperity, good luck, and success.
