This late nineteenth-century Victorian library bookcase comes in a warm brown mahogany with a rich timber grain. The two-section piece stands 228 cm high, 127 cm wide, with a base depth of 46 cm and a top depth of 28 cm. The upper section displays a heavily moulded projecting cornice above two glazed doors flanked by fluted pilasters, enclosing multiple timber shelves with a white tassel hanging between the doors. The lower section includes a pair of long drawers fitted with dark drop handles over a double cupboard base with rectangular panelled doors. Ideal for a gentleman's study, hallway or principal living space, the bookcase provides substantial enclosed storage and display capacity for books, ceramics and decorative objects.
