The timber has a pleasing dark, warm colour with attractive natural grain and a well-developed aged patina throughout. The lid opens to reveal a clean interior, complete with original lidded candlebox to the left hand side. A useful piece for storage of blankets, linen or general household items.

CONDITION REPORT:
In good antique condition, commensurate with age and use. There is significant historic woodworm damage throughout, which has long since become inactive. The piece has been treated as a precaution. The historic holes and losses remain visible but do not detract significantly from the overall appearance or practical use of the box. There are various marks, scratches and areas of wear throughout, consistent with age and previous use. The lid remains sound and the box is solid and structurally stable. Overall, a pleasing and useful George III blanket box with good colour and patina.
