M Lees and Sons has dated this Cast Iron Standard Lamp to the 19th Century.
. The base modelled as a tripod with compressed lion’s legs and feet, between these are large cast classical anthemion or honeysuckle motifs ( one historically removed/ lacking in order to accommodate the electrical flex ) .

The fluted architectural-style cast column topped with a torchere type platform with cast details and fitted with a lotus design lamp-holder .
A powerfully designed classical style standard lamp of bold scale and proportions. The cast-iron having been skilfully patinated and finished to resemble bronze .
Has been re-wired and tested using traditional cotton-covered flex , ready to use . Well balanced and stable .
