Description

A pretty Victorian gold locket embellished with rubies and seed pearls in a swirling floral design to the front. One side contains (later) velvet but it could easily be removed if you wanted to insert photos in both sides.

SIZE: 4 x 2.8cm, not including the top loop.

WEIGHT: 8.1g.

MATERIALS: Nine-carat gold, ruby, pearl, velvet. All parts of the locket test as nine-carat gold, except for the hinge and the internal frames which are made of a stronger base metal, as is often the case with this type of locket.

HALLMARKS/STAMPS: None.

CONDITION: Very good antique condition. There are a few minor scuffs, see photos, but no significant dents and the hinge and clasp are in good working order.

ERA: Estimated Victorian c.late 1800s.
