The Chelsea Bijouterie Ltd has dated this Art Deco Pearl Necklace to the 1920s.

The necklace comprises 89 near-round saltwater cultured pearls, arranged over two graduated-length strands. The pearls have a beautiful soft cream colour, complemented by delicate pink and green overtones and very good lustre.

Recently restrung in August 2026, each pearl is individually hand-knotted. The two strands sit gracefully around the base of the neck, while the decorative clasp is designed to be worn visibly to one side.

The square 18 carat white gold clasp is centred with an old cushion-cut natural sapphire, surrounded by two geometric rows of old-cut natural diamonds. The diamonds are estimated to weigh approximately 1.00 carat in total and display an attractive bright white appearance, assessed as approximately G/H colour and VS1 clarity. Fine millegrain borders complete the quintessentially Art Deco design.

The necklace is accompanied by a Birmingham Assay Office Pearl Jewellery Report, dated 3 September 2026, confirming the cultured saltwater pearls, one natural sapphire and 30 natural diamonds.
A refined and timeless necklace combining the understated beauty of lustrous pearls with an exceptionally attractive original Art Deco jewel.
