Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A George V silver-mounted cut glass jug is a serving vessel produced during the reign of King George V (19101936), featuring a heavy lead crystal body decorated with cut patterns and fitted with a sterling silver collar, spout, or handle.

These pieces were crafted by blowing and hand-cutting heavy lead glass with geometric patterns using stone wheels, after which silversmiths custom-fitted hallmarked sterling silver mounts to the neck and rim of the vessel.

Authentic pieces display British hallmarks on the silver collar or spout, including the lion passant for sterling silver, a town mark, a date letter corresponding to 19101936, and the makers mark. The glass will show hand-cut faceting with sharp edges rather than moulded seams.

Place the jug on a dining sideboard, bar cart, or drinks tray alongside modern glassware to act as a functional or decorative focal point that reflects light.

Hand wash the interior with warm water and mild liquid soap, avoiding submersion of the silver mounts. Polish the silver element gently using a soft silver cloth to remove oxidisation, avoiding abrasive cleaners that could scratch the glass or metal.
