Queens Antiques and Collectables has dated this Edwardian Silver Tobacco Box to the Edwardian era.
Hallmarked for SHEFFIELD 1907 by renowned makers MAPPIN & WEBB.
With flush invisible hinge and plain body. No initials or engraving, completely clean.

The interior has a gilt wash and the full set of hallmarks are on the underside.
Measuring 7.5 cm diameter x 1.5 cm high and weighs a healthy 82.4 grams.
In very good antique condition, the hallmarks are good, hinge working well , there is surface wear and small dings/dents to the side where you squeeze to open the box (but nothing major), gilding is still bright. It takes a good squeeze to open the box due to the heavy gauge of silver used. Usual signs of wear commensurate of age and use.
