Description

A very pretty and unusual Worcester deep dish of lobed form with fluted walls feeding down into the cavetto, and the centre with a shallow well moulded to match the same lobed shape of the walls and rim. Hand painted in fresh, summery enamels, with a large floral spray and smaller floral and leafy sprigs, jauntily dotted about, to complete a very pleasing arrangement. Finished with a maroon enamel band just inside the rim. Unmarked, c.1765.

It measures 22.5cm (8 7/8") wide and 4.5cm (1 3/4") high.

In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and minor handling wear, just where expected along the lines of the raised flutes.
