Antique Bergama Rug. Early 19th Century. 120cm X 99cm.

Description

West anatolia. First half 19th century.

Earlier turkish village weaving from bergama region of west turkey.

Features two irregular hooked diamond medallions and of course that lovely main border design.wonderful yellow colour.

Not perfect condition,bottom outer minor guard stripe loss some pile loss upper right side,some corrosion of dark brown as you would expect from a weaving of this age. The pile overall is very good.

Rebound side bindings and ends professionally finished.

Great size for a wall hanging,see last images as I have done.

3 foot 11 inches by 3 foot 3 inches. 120cm X 99cm. Size excludes fringes. All wool construction with red wefts.

Priced reasonably £1850 gbp. U.k post £20.

Many more restored,distressed and the like tribal rugs.
