Treaders Collectables has dated this Georgian Silver Lemon Strainer to the 18th Century.
Each strainer is of circular twin-handled form, the deep bowl finely pierced with a radiating star-and-rosette pattern of drilled apertures within a reeded rim, flanked by a pair of flat, pierced scrolling openwork handles. Designed to rest across the rim of a punch bowl or goblet.
The two strainers carry their original 18th-century owners' engraving: one bowl is engraved to each side with an armorial crest, while the other bears a contemporary triangular marriage cipher ("I·W·S"), reflecting their separate early ownership before being brought together as a pair.
