Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Designed during the 18th and 19th centuries for British military officers on campaign, this style prioritised portability, durability, and compact storage. Furniture was constructed to withstand frequent transport across international territories while providing functional living and working solutions.

Traditional campaign bureaux are constructed from dense hardwoods such as mahogany, teak, or camphorwood. They feature flush-fitting brass military handles, protective brass corner brackets, and interior writing surfaces inlaid with gold-tooled leather.

Authentic campaign pieces feature flush-recessed brass hardware designed to prevent snagging during transit, side carrying handles, and often split into separate sections. Original construction methods typically include hand-cut dovetail joints and heavy brass corner straps.

A campaign bureau functions effectively in a home office, hallway, or living area, serving as a functional workspace and compact storage unit. Pairing the dark mahogany and brass accents with neutral wall colours, crisp linen textiles, and modern lighting highlights its architectural silhouette.

Dust timber surfaces regularly using a soft dry cloth and apply a high-grade beeswax polish annually to nourish the mahogany. For the leather writing skiver, wipe gently with a slightly damp cloth and apply a dedicated leather conditioner to prevent drying and cracking.
