This is a very handsome Bakshaish runner in a long and narrow format. The field design is composed of three sapphire blue anchor medallions filled with botehs, which appear to float above a lovely abrashed terracotta field. The medallions are framed by rows of a geometric motif which resembles an ornament seen on Turkmen weaving. Narrow stylised floral borders frame this composition. Note the lovely apple green in the guard stripes, as well as the delightful yellows and light blues in the details. This is a very decorative runner which would work well in any number of settings, contemporary or traditional.
