130 X 365cm Antique Karadja Runner

Exceptional condition and materials used in this beautiful runner. Made in the second half of the 19th century it appears to have been in a time capsule as not only is it in full pile but also the original ends and sides have survived intact too. Only a great, shining patina exists to inform you of the passing of years. Thick pile allover means another 150 years is easily on the cards for this charming tribal runner.
 
A myriad of animals and small flowers fills the field in a random nature while a single column of alternating ''Karadja'' medallions floats through the middle. Exceptional wool and dyes.
