Beautiful Antique 9ct gold Locket with paste stones. This is a superb quality circular locket measuring 2.6cm by 2.6cm not including the bale. It is adorned with beautiful design of ruby and diamond paste (Victorian substitute for ruby) stones set in a star shape. The locket is tested as 9ct gold and appears to be gold on the sides. The inner fittings are not gold. There are no hallmarks at all. The locket is circular and 4mm deep, well formed on both sides which gives it a very tactile feel. The locket is in good antique condition with only one very small ding on the back and a spot of tarnish at the top front of the locket. I would say its a medium sized locket and I have photographed it next to a one pound coin and a hand to get an idea of scale. The inside is in great usable condition with Plexiglas and photograph space on both sides. With some minor wear to the gold in accordance to its age. Closes well and clicks shut.
