This vintage Persian tribal Afshar carpet dates from 1940 and measures 292 cm high, 203 cm wide and 1 cm deep. Hand-woven from wool and cotton, the piece displays a rich indigo navy blue field decorated with five prominent geometric diamond medallions, accompanied by stylised floral elements, figures and secondary pink, green and gold shades, all framed within an intimate terracotta red geometric border with secure fringes and selvedges.
