Description

Original 1900s Army and Navy Canvas and Leather Luggage Trunk Hat Box 46cm.

An elegant Army and Navy Cooperative Society campaign luggage or hat box circa 1900 with Bibby Line label and original intact silk lining, presented in mostly excellent structural condition and other than evidence of minor water exposure to the top, aesthetically very good condition.

The luggage trunk was possible a hat box with operating locks and hinges, opening to reveal a complete silk lining without tears or loss, perhaps used on only a few occasions and still showing its Bibby Line label to the front with SS Oxfordshire cruise liner named and cabin number, the passenger surname on the label is consistent with the stenciled name to the top A C and I G De Morgan. A Midlands to Scotland railway label also to the top.
