A magnificent mid 19th century Birdseye Maple bookcase designed by Sir Charles Barry for the library at Kiddington Hall Oxfordshire and made by Taprell Holland and Son c 1845 and bearing their ink makers name to the underside.

Taprell, Holland & Sons was a prominent London firm of cabinet makers and upholsterers that evolved into the highly acclaimed Holland & Sons. Founded by Stephen Taprell and William Holland in 1803, the business became a primary supplier to the British Royal Family and major institutions, holding a Royal Warrant.
