Antique Tekke Turkmen torba of very fine weave, with a single row of four ''chuval'' guls to the central panel. Torba are shallow wall bags used mainly in tents or yurts for the storage of personal belongings, they were also used to decorate the sides of a camel in a wedding procession. Often only the piled face survives and the plain weave backs have been removed.
Circa 1880.
The torba is in very good condition with slight even wear and good pile, the original plain back has been removed at some point in the torba''s history.
