Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco silver items from the 1920s and 1930s are defined by geometric symmetry, clean linear silhouettes, and functional form. Craftsmen frequently incorporated engine-turned patterns, stepped moulding, and understated reeded motifs rather than heavy figurative carving.

These boxes were constructed from solid sterling silver or high-grade silver plate, frequently fitted with interior linings made from cedar wood to absorb moisture and preserve contents, or velvet for jewellery storage.

Authenticity is identified by examining official assay office hallmarks stamped into the silver, which indicate the metal purity, city of production, makers mark, and date letter corresponding to the era.

An Art Deco silver box functions well as a refined accent piece on an office desk, console table, or coffee table, serving as a container for stationery, keys, or small trinkets.

Maintain sterling silver by dusting regularly with a soft microfiber cloth and using a dedicated silver polishing cloth to reduce natural oxidisation. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or submerging wooden-lined boxes in water.
