Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the mid-19th century, British potteries such as Ridgway produced intricate pierced porcelain featuring Rococo Revival elements. These decorative dessert services served both functional dining roles and as displays of wealth and craftsmanship.

Victorian porcelain plates were crafted from refined bone china, fired at high temperatures for translucency and durability. Artisans applied hand-painted enamel botanical motifs and gilded accents over reticulated or pierced molded borders.

Authentic 19th-century Ridgway ceramics often feature painted pattern numbers on the reverse alongside maker marks. Examining the precise hand-painted floral details, gilding quality, and distinct pierced border molding helps verify authenticity.

Plates with ornate pierced borders can be mounted in balanced wall groupings or displayed on acrylic stands within open shelving and sideboards. Their muted colour palettes provide delicate visual texture alongside traditional or modern tableware.

Gilded bone china should be cleaned gently using warm water and mild liquid detergent applied with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive sponges, harsh chemicals, and dishwashers, as these will wear away hand-painted enamels and gold gilding.
