Description:
Antique English pewter triple reeded plate of 8.50 inch diameter. The front rim bears a very well struck set of hall marks for John Tubb of London who worked from 1686, these are of note as Tubb was one of a small group of Pewterer''s who incorporated ''black letters'' into their hallmarks, (see Journal of the Pewter Society, Autumn 1997 p32). The reverse has a partial set of touchmarks for John Tubb.
Condition:
The plate is in excellent condition with a very lightly polished finish to the front, with some small traces of oxide. The reverse is also lightly polished with some light oxide.
Repairs: There are no repairs.
